UK Skilled Worker Visa Eligibility Checker

UK Skilled Worker Visa Eligibility Checker

The UK Skilled Worker visa uses a 70 point test. Three requirements are mandatory and cannot be traded: a job offer from a Home Office approved sponsor (20 points), a job at the required skill level (20 points), and English language at level B1 or above (10 points). The remaining 20 points come from your salary or one of the tradeable options.

This checker gives a first estimate only, based on the current published rules. Salary thresholds and going rates are set per occupation, so confirm the exact threshold and going rate for your job on the official GOV.UK site before you rely on the result.

For most new applicants this means a job at RQF level 6 (degree level) or above, unless transitional rules cover you.
For example an approved English test at B1, a degree taught in English, or nationality of a majority English speaking country.

Important: the rules changed in July 2025. The general salary threshold rose to GBP 41,700 and the standard skill level rose to RQF 6 for most new applicants, with transitional arrangements for some people already on the route. Thresholds and going rates differ by occupation code, so treat this checker as a first estimate and confirm the exact figures for your job on GOV.UK before you apply. This tool is not immigration advice.

    What to do next

Start with the sponsor: without an offer from a Home Office approved sponsor there is no application. Then check the going rate for your exact occupation code, because meeting the general threshold alone is not enough if your salary sits below the rate for the job.
